I'm definitely a fan of this one! Inexpensive, easy, thorough, caliber specific, compact... I made videos on 6 other styles of cleaning systems before making this one and it still pulled dirt out! I didn't film it, but I did run a test to make sure. I ran a dry patch through using a simple pull through and then pulled a dry one through with the Patch Worm right after. The pull through showed just a light "shadowing" of dirt, the Patch Worm had much darker areas.

While it is a bit of a process to use the Patch Worm system, it's worth it when you see the results.

Quick tip: If you want an even tighter fit in your barrel, you can double up on the patches!

Patchworm is the best kind of cleaning system I have used. Has anyone else noticed that the .25 "plug" seems to be a bit undersized though? I wrapped a short piece of teflon tape around mine to get a snug fit (with patch) in my barrel. My .22 works perfectly and fits very snug. Have also thought of whittling down my .30 cal to fit .25 snug since I don't own a .30 gun....

Hey guys,

Would you mind backing me up on this system? There's a guy in the youtube comments section suggesting this system will not scrub the rifling anywhere near as good as a brush. Name : Kenny Cadarett Please don't foul mouth him. Just put him down with hard facts. He's had borderline negative comments on many of my recent videos.

From my perspective, I think a brush is an outstanding way to get a thorough clean. However, I brushed and dry patched the barrels in the video before I used the patchworm system and it still pulled out more fouling than the Dewey Rod. I'm just talking about dry patches here. No chemicals involved.

@Cpt.Cannon - hard case? I haven't seen that. Could you PM me a link?

@FunGun - Mmmm, candy... I like "Spree" candy. See below about the videos.

@Tweeter - As an experiment, I tried doubling up on my patches. It worked great and the inside patch did not get dirty at all. It definitely made the system tighter inside the barrel. I probably tried it with the .25 because, as you pointed out, the .25 is not as tight of a fit as the .22. Thanks for sharing your tip!



Videos: I want to thank you all for the kind and supportive words! It's getting a hard to keep the channel afloat recently and I've got a lot going on in my personal life right now. I hope I'll be able to get back on the wagon at some point. I'll be keeping my list of video ideas handy, just in case. I've got some really cool ideas I wanted to try to pull off for you guys! lol ?

Tom we will miss your videos for SURE !!! But believe me I GET IT ! Guys don't have any idea the time and Expense it takes to make decent production videos .

Cameras , Microphone, tripods , Lighting , Computer and Pay apps to do the editing .....And That's not even taking into consideration the product ...The loss when it's sold ...And the shipping costs . 

A ton of guys will add comments for you or give feedback or thumbs up while that is All Great ! It's NOT the same as contributing in a monetary way . Guys want honest reviews .....But don't wanna pitch in so guys like you can make them . It's a shame !!! 

It's a hard spot to be in at times ...You hope guys who like your videos will help out ...But you don't wanna seem like you are begging all the time . 

Ive been Super Lucky and have several guys who believe in what I'm trying to do and have contributed to me and my channel but I know other guys have truly struggled to get needed help . Hopefully when life slows down for you and you find time to make videos you can get the message out in a much more eloquent way than I have been able to .

Gonna a miss your videos for SURE !!!! Hoping it's just a short while my friend

I wrapped a short piece of teflon tape around mine to get a snug fit (with patch) in my barrel. My .22 works perfectly and fits very snug. Have also thought of whittling down my .30 cal to fit .25 snug since I don't own a .30 gun....

I have the same experience with the .25 cal plug (and the VERY snug fit on .22). That teflon tape trick seems like a really smart idea, I might give that a try in the next go around. I never considered shimming the .25 plug because I had a little mishap where I ran a same diameter but slightly thicker patch through a .22. The patch got stuck inside the barrel, and the patchworm cable pulled through the patch leaving me with a wad of fabric stuck in the barrel. Wasn't the end of the world, but definitely created a oh-poop moment. How many wraps of teflon did you use on the .25 plug?

So, I’m here at work thinking: I have worked 6 straight 12hr shifts. Now it’s gonna take me all 5 days off to catch up with all the content Tom has been pumping out, and some of the other guys. And then I read the fine print! 

@Tominco thanks for all the Great Genuine Down to earth and Straight up funny videos. I hope everything gets sorted out soon enough.

I can tell you first hand I have been cleaning my barrels on my airguns all 7 of them with everything under the sun and I was very happy with it until I used patch worm system the first time I run it though my barrel I was shocked how dirty it come out I thought all my barrels was clean but no they was not but thanks to patch worm now they are the best ever for your barrel so I agree with Tom. They are no better way as of today then patch worm. John

I don't really remember maybe 3 wraps? But since then I turned down my .30 plug to .226 (was going for .23) and it fits perfectly snug now and works perfectly. So for me, the .23 (give or take) plug with a 7/8" Brownells round patch is the ticket. Could also find a machinist to make some .23 plugs out of delrin. I think when I measured the patchworm .25 plug it was like .197... Just too small.
