The new springer

Thanks to all the springer vets here. I had 2 other posts regarding brand and caliber choices. The result is a Weihrauch HW97k in 22 cal. When it arrives and I run some rounds through it I’m sure to have questions. One off the bat is that I have read these calibers have a somewhat large barrel bore in relation to most common 22 ammo. To those that shoot the 22, what pellets have produced well for you?

Congrats on the new toy! Field Target Trophy in 5.54 and 5.55 have been top dog in mine.

I have a HW95 in .22, it prefers 5.53/5.54 also.

Same here. My HW95 with the .22 barrel shoots the FTT 5.54's the best. Air Arms Falcons shoot even a hair better but when pricing went crazy on them, I went back to the FTT's.

Nice rifle choice! My HW50 .22 likes the H&N FTT 5.53 or 5.54. Surprisingly likes the Crosman 14.3 Domed as well. Did not find a JSB pellet that it liked.

My HW95L .22 seems to shoot the H&N FTT 14.66 gr 5.53 mm pellets the best. I shoot 25 yards from a table & bags. Rifle average is 17+ FPE.

As already mentioned the H&N FTs are great in this rifle but if you don’t mind the price try the Baracuda Greens too. They are super accurate in my HWs.
