Guys this thing is beautiful. Not one ding or tooling mark that I can find in my first once over. I did the tissue trick to check the seals as I fired a few cp piranhas out of it. I thought it was leaking but after further investigation I concluded that the enormous kick of this thing was the issue. It wasn't flying up but rather back. I will give a full review of it after I clean the barrel, find the hold it likes and run a tin of pellets through it.

I'm going to go ahead and venture a guess that this thing is going to eat scopes for breakfast. If I ever do scope it I will probably go with a swfa ss in 6x. Honestly I think fixed power is fine for airguns. In fact I would love it if swfa came out with a 2x 3x or 4x. I think 2x is perfect for squirrel hunting. I never go any farther than 25 yards or so with springer and the low power is excellent for running rabbits and squirrels. I usually use pcp's for rabbit though as the Jack's in my area don't really give me close shots. Fact is I enjoy 22lr if I'm really trying to eat. I find 50 yards in the wind is easier said than done with my dads Gamo urban. Anyway the open sights on here work very well. I suspect that I will use them and keep it under 25. Time will tell.

Got mine on Friday also!

Only Had time to clean the barrel which wasn't that dirty to my surprise and run a couple dozen H&N Terminators through it...

It was dieseling like crazy and has some serious recoil and accuracy not good to start with these pellets...but I can tell this beast needs some time to settle in! Hopefully I can get some time in the next week or so to run a couple hundred down the pipe and try some different ammo...

I have a crap load of different .22 pellets to try so we will see!

So here's the new scoop. Mine is shooting half inch groups at 10 yards with the open sights. My guns barrel was filthy. I ran 50 ballistol patches on the patch worm and ran both sides of the patch so 100 passes. I also had to move the rear sight a full 2 notches to the left to get it on target. This concerns me a little because that thing should be centered better than that..... I have some thinking to do on why it's doing that. Anyway I was using cph to sight it in and it seems very accurate for using a cheap pellet and one that is probably light for that gun. Accuracy seems very good for such a powerful gun but time will tell. I am holding it just behind the checkering with a flat palm and gently holding the grip in the back. I have to be honest I am disappointed with the trigger although it does seem to have adjustable trigger so maybe I can get the creep out of it. I can't tell when it will go off at all at this point. More to come as I shoot more. My hand hurts from slapping the barrel too bad to continue today. I have about 30 rounds through it. Next time I'm wearing a glove on my right hand.

I agree ! I've owned adjustment magnification scopes on most of the airguns that I owned. I usually just set them in the middle of their rating and forget it ! My open sight days are over. LOL !

I'm sorry to read that the front sight is messed up!

Cleaning a replacement gun isn't my idea of fun either...!! 😟

I really hope for you that you'll find a better solution. 👍🏼

On another note, you write:

Honestly I think fixed power is fine for airguns.

In fact I would love it if swfa came out with a 2x 3x or 4x.

My reaction: ➔ I'm continually amazed at the diversity of airgunners we meet on the forums! 😎

👍🏼 You see: On the one hand I'm totally with you when you say that you'd want a 2x, 3x, or 4x magnification scope!

= I want the same, and depending on the type of hunting 3x is great, and 4x is still good enough — but not 5x or 6x.

👎 On the other hand, about a year ago the Parrus was on the top of my buying list. Because I wanted the power of a magnum springer — to shoot out to longer ranges, 50y and beyond that, not just sub-25y game.

And for that a 3x nor a 6x does nothing for me — I'll need 12x, but more likely 16x, or 20x.

👆 So, I want to shoot sub-25y game, AND — because I have a magnum gun — shoot long range, 50y+.

And that is only feasible with a variable magnification scope: 3-12x, or 4-16x, or an amazingly versatile 6-power zoom 3-18x that allows me to see the pellet holes in my target cards at 100y.

(6-24x are very common, but the 6x is too much for short-range work. I need a wider field of view to acquire my targets, especially if they are mobile.)

➔ So, I guess, I'm trying to understand the reasoning behind your desire to have a fixed mangification scope — limiting you to one magnification, in this case, 2x, 3, 4, 5, or 6x. 😊

➔ I'm not criticising you — YOU are the one shooting the gun, so the scope needs to work for YOU. Just trying to understand why people make such a choice. 🤔

⭐ Peace, and happy shooting, my friend!! 😊

So no the front sight is glued on with the muzzle break. Sent her back to the factory and they paid shipping. Unfortunately while packing it the box fell and shattered the plastic trigger. As for the fixed power my reason is due to my location. I generally hunt tree squirrels in the Sierra mountains. The squirrels I see are fast moving and close. If they are farther than one or two trees away they just disappear forever. Also as stated above I keep it under 25 for springers. The extra power was kind of about if I ever needed to kill a racoon or a possum and my pcp wasn't around. I like to keep an airgun in my car and thought I'd like the extra power. In hindsight I'd probably like the terrus better. Anyway low mag fixed power helps me with running squirrels and I get clearer glass for less money. Nothing wrong with a variable just not my preference. I am considering buying a leupold 1x6 AR 15 scope for hunting purposes. I think I'd love that option

Well I'm sorry your gun turned out to be a dud...I've been playing with mine some and its coming around...the first thing I noticed was the breach end of the barrel...no champher relief for the pellets to seat property and was deforming and smashing the pellet skirt...so I fixed that problem and then noticed the pivot bolt was way to loose so I snuged that up and just to try and tame it down a tad I left it cocked overnight....lol.

Yes and it's becoming a pretty good shooter with JSB 18.1s at just over 23fpe and suprisingly accurate too...still needs some break in time but I'm happy I bought it!

It's a beast!!!

I have a Terrus and found that it needed to break in a bit before the groups would tighten up and for breaking it open to get easier. My hand was getting sore too from breaking it open but its much easier now. I didn't like the muzzle architecture on the Parrus. I liked the simple dovetail mount for the front sight on the Terrus. (why don't more airgun manufacturers do that?) The Parrus is a better gun for hunting but the Terrus is no slouch. I still haven't opened up my Terrus to work on the internals. I find that I have to frequently tighten up the barrel pivot but that's easily done.
