Hey guys I am newer to the airgun world. I had a marauder for a short time and traded it to my father in law for a 30-30 lever action and regret it. Looking to get into something that is quiet accurate and reasonably priced to start and grow from there. Really like pcps what is a good starter

What's your budget? If your budget is the cost of what you paid for your mrod new and if you could stretch your budget a little more, try getting the streamline that's for sale. There's one in .22 and .25 that are good deals.

Thank you I will look into those. Being a new guy I have to get my post count up to be able to do anything on the classifieds. I'm ok with that I've been through that on archerytalk as well in the past but I did check out the streamline and looks like a very solid gun

If you can afford it, consider an Air Arms S510. Terrific and beautiful in every way. Hardly any maintenance. Deadly accurate. Will last a lifetime.

Check out the Weihrauch HW100 in its various iterations. They are amazing air rifles, accurate, trouble free, simple, did I mention accurate and trouble free? ;~) Sometimes you can find a good deal on them used. I think there was even one posted in the classified here. Good luck and have fun!

Welcome on board! Check out the Zbroia line. Has recently been gaining a good reputation for excellent value, great accuracy, and loaded with features. I don’t have personal experience with it, Yet...., but from what I hear, it’s good to go. I’m gonna go by GA Airguns sometime soon and check them out.

Airforce has some great options, compact, and lots of customizable options. Cheap too for how much power and simplicity you get. Id recommend a TalonP .25 (about $479 usd)

Bench or field gun? Where you gonna shoot?
Paper, steel or fur? What you gonna shoot?
Compressor, hand pump or SCBA air tank? Where you get air from to put in the gun?
Slug gun or pellet gun? Now there is another variable to consider.

I started with a Brocock Compatto from Trenier sports. (He has them in 177 or 22 for about $700 each, which is a great price.) I have been VERY impressed by mine, and Trenier was great to work with. This Compatto is NOT regulated, but very consistent none the less. It is a small cylinder, but that works great because I use a hand pump. With the slingshot hammer, it sips air too. I did spend another $95 and put a regulator in from Altaros. It is not the cheapest way to start, but an incredible value for what you get.
