The Jihad Continues

So I went out to a spot last evening and took out six or seven iguanas. A passing FWC (state wildlife management) stopped to see what I was up to. I told him I was doing god's work taking care of the iguana population one by one. He laughed and kept going. On the way out, in an area I had already covered, I spotted this guy.

Givemlead, I’m curious, as you said the game management person walked away laughing. Did he at least give you an attaboy along with that laugh?

years ago in my mid twenties when I got introduced to adult air rifles, my buddy and his Beeman R1, and myself and my R10, used to go out to the rice fields and pop off rats from 10 pm till 2am. The game warden came upon us one night, cause he saw us using a flood light to spot them. He not only thought it was cool, but he ended it with saying “ you fellas are doing the farmers a big favor, cause these rats just eat up all the rice grain”.

If he would’ve just laughed and walked away, it would’ve left us wondering if “it was ok to do”?

@GiveEmLead , why a red dot and not a scope ? What is the red tape on the muzzle for ? And what caliber is your Hatsan Flash?

Good Times !

The red dot is for poops and giggles. It normally sits atop my Sig AR, but I wanted to see what it was like to hunt with it. It's rather effective, but I'll be going back to my bug buster scope soon. The red tape on the tip is a sort of signal to folks, in the hopes they don't automatically assume it's a firearm. Seems to work. It's a .22. I don't think .177 would work with iguanas, and the .25 is probably overkill for most of them. Tough hide.

First off, I know I'm OK to be where I am and OK to be doing what I'm doing. His concern is gong to be to assure that I'm not waving a firearm around, and that once established I'm shooting pellets, that I'm doing so safely. I'm in the boonies, with no houses of people around. It was actually their agency that put out that press release about killing the iguanas. Yeah, I knew that there were no worries in that regard.

IMO youd be better off with flourescent orange at the muzzle, and a non-black, and or non-wood stock. like candy apple red metal flake

all balck airguns, even with a colored muzzle tip will still be seen by many as an "evil black rifle". so a color scheme that doestn trigger the "EBR response" would keep your interanctions with the authorities a tad bit less. Something like kryptec camo or the red, orange or pink that other camo patterns have

Your response is well taken. Someone suggested that the red tip on a non-toy is a crime. I'm still waiting on the citation for that one. I'm secure about where I sit vis-a-vis the popo.
