The handy mini gun takes one down again!

This guy was messing with my walnuts. You know, I think I’d let them eat the nuts…But they bore huge holes in my trees. And I definitely don’t like them eating all the acorns, because I love watching the deer come in and eat them.

this guy was only about 25 yards away, he gave me a perfect quartering angle. it went in low on the neck, and lodged on the far side, just inside the skin on the rear quarter.

Needless to say there was no flopping around on this one. Pretty impressed that the rifle is only about 23 foot pounds, 22 caliber.

Plenty of penetration which seems to be a very popular topic.

HM,

I will be completely candid. I have eaten squirrel twice. It was cooked by my friends grandma. I think she did a great job. I was just out of high school. I shot one of them in the head with a 22- 250 at 200 yards.

I personally remove the squirrels to remove the damage. I then donate the carcass to the predators, or if not fertilizer for the trees.

I did harvest some of the walnuts this year, and they are drying in the basement…I have seen squirrels almost completely hollow out 300 year old oaks, one of them was on our property when I was a kid. It died. (The tree).
