…to the power addicted.

Until I’m a much better shot, there’s no reason to purchase more guns.
When I first found out about airguns last year, I was immediately, and only attracted to springers.

Was in a same boat but when I realized it will be harder to get a scope (since they are all imported) that can last through recoil which is also very cheap to get started would be costing more than PCP, I had shifted to PCP. :ROFLMAO:

I think there's still plenty of room for innovation. One thing think could catch on are recoil reducing systems. Like that omnia? Where the whole action moves to cancel out the "jump" its not necessarily new stuff but that's one thingi think could lead to substantially increased power in springers. Just my .02 and I'm probably totally wrong.

Personally, I don't feel as though a springer needs any sort of innovation. PCPs are great, but they are not convenient for the casual backyard airgunner. For the same reason that there's really no reason to "improve" on a shovel, there's no need to improve on the basic spring piston design. It works. It lasts and it's simple.
There's a reason why the Wally World sporting goods dept. offers more springers than PCPs.

The sled system doesn't eliminate the recoil to the scope. Thus you still require springer rated scopes and or special (expensive) shock absorbing scope mounts.

Nobody prefers springer more than me but the ugly reality is, most of the world prefers easy accuracy and power. Springers can be plenty accurate but not easily. Size and weight limit to their power potential. There will always be us outliers that will deal with the quicks of springers for their convenience and nostalgia. Whether or not it's sufficient to keep quality springers around is questionable.

I am undoubtedly a 48 springer fan. It is my go-to first choice over my PCP's which I consider that I own the best of the best. My 48 has been absolutely trouble free since purchase in 2012. I wonder if my PCP's and all their support equipment will be trouble free in 2038? I know my 48 will! Unfortunately, I will be kicking up daisies by then.

The new Omnistorm is Pyramyd's attempt at bringing affordability and accuracy to the game. I am tempted to purchase one to see what they have done. The price seems pretty competitive. I am always glad to see a new rifle in the market.

Let us know how that works out for you. Other than the adjustable pressure I'm not sure it'll be much different than the other Chinese and Spanish box store magnums. Some people have luck with them. I never did. It's how I ended up with my first Weihrauch when I couldn't hardly afford food and gasoline.

The pressure setting should either make or break the rifle. Being able to lower the fps should make the rifle more manageable and perhaps more accurate. Supposed to have a decent trigger as well. Would be a great starter rifle for a young shooter.

if they ever come available I might purchase one.

Well in springers, pick your battle, POWER, COST, RECOIL at this time the the RWS54 is about it. .177, .22
The Whiscombe is the perfect rifle....recoilless, beautiful ,powerful, best trigger, rare and expensive.
other recoilless rifles are in the 6-12fp range.... Park, FWB 300,Anschutz 380, AA SR but not currently produced.
The 54 is a scope killer without help ( Bullseye mounts), not a great trigger, medium power, recoil friendly
Men's springers Hatsen and Weblely are powerful , hard too cock, recoils.

So it appears PCPs win

And I love my Whiscombe's, Park, 54, SR's , A 380, FWB 300, Webley
Don't love being old and broke......but happy

In today's world......Easy, no effort required.......is the winner.
I have a Diana 54 I love in .22. It took some effort but is very accurate. Not crazy about the trigger but I have learned how to get along with it.
Sightron STac 4-20×50 scope mounted in Burris Signature rings with inserts. After over 2000 shots, no issues.
So do PCPs win. Not in my area. I have never seen one at a range. Lots of active competitive various powder burning discipline shooters around. No PCPs.
I was surprised when a National class BR shooter recently told me he owned some high end PCPs. He said while impressed with the accuracy he hated all the fussing and gear so had quit using them. My interest in Springers has him thinking about trying one.
BUT, bottom line the looser seems to be airguns period. Sad and I hope I am wrong but the interest is just not there. I sit guys down, they shot several pellets in a small hole and are amazed, but it pretty much ends there. Will the pendulum swing as time goes on.....only time will tell.
