Racoon -> 80 mts
Second pellet trap 90 mts (groups shown are at that distance).
Third pellet trap-> 110 mts
Deer-> 110 mts
Jack rabbit -> 115 mts
Bear -> 120 mts

I really suc at 100Y with pellets. I can get a sub MOA group here and there but to do it consistently … nope.

That's nearly all of us, when we're being pragmatic about it and not cherry picking.

Notice the projectile that started this topic is a slug. BC is king. Even my lowly first gen .20 slugs have a BC nearly double that of even the best pellet BCs.

To compare a projectile with a BC of 0.05 to one of 0.06, somewhat negligible difference. But to go all the way up to 0.1, against something with a BC of 0.05-0.06......the difference in difficulty level of long-range precision is very evident.

Regardless of where slugs take us and competitive airgunning, I personally hope there will always be a place for pellets to compete. They simply require more skill to accurately place than slugs.
