Well, can't say that i shoot BR except to sort out my FT guns dope
But
As i experience this in my own world, an as i have experienced this at several different ranges, i find a common issue or problem.
Specifically:
The seat we place our Arses on is like the "weakest link" in the equation.
Thousands of dollars in Guns, Scopes, and BR equipment and then we contort our bodies on wobbly stools or old office chairs to find a reasonable eyebox to do our best shooting. What's up with that?

I've seen all kinds of seats.... including the fixed "made to be part of the BR" seats and quite frankly they mostly all suck.

Anybody found the perfect seat or way to park your Arse on whilst behind your scope?

I went to a drum shop and they had many different "thrones" to try. I ended up with one like thomasair's, but with a back. They were a little unnerved when they found out it's end use!

Yep, drum thrones are the ticket! Solid, comfortable, adjustable. My "arse" has a 62 year relationship with them & finding they work perfectly for shooting tables or Benchrest has been icing on the cake.

Looking back, my set up sure has evolved in the 1 year i have been trying to do this. But the stool has not changed.

Drum thrones are the most common thing in powder-burner BR. Just about any stool is better than any chair.

At first I agreed, then I thought about what we spend on guns, rests, and ancillary equipment. It's dirt cheap!

There ARE solid thrones that can be had for less money. Gibraltar is one brand that keeps the cost down.

I use this cheap collapsible chair, it can be locked into incrementally different lengths, cheap, works and easily portable.
