The best and not so best trigger pull and cocking PCP rifles.

"I know for sure that the FX has the best trigger pull and unbelievable cocking mechanism! Can't believe anyone can argue that."

Owning, and having owned, many FXs, I know for sure you're sadly mistaken. My Daystate Red Wolf trigger and cocking actions make FX's seem prehistoric. I can monkey FX triggers down to VERY good, but not in the same league as (unmonkeyed) Red.

Might not be a good idea to speak in absolutes, when you don't absolutely know. That said, I don't hesitate to speak in absolutes... when I absolutely know. Good way to avoid a dressing down is to qualify your statements with "in my opinion" or "in MY EXPERIENCE".

To paraphrase, your audience is absolutely the most experienced and elite airgun audience extant. However, we also were all airgun newbies once.

Yeah, that line you quoted really rubbed me the wrong way, a bit. The ONLY thing the OP could be SURE of is they're the best FOR HIM unless, of course, he has empirically tested EVERY EXISTING AIRGUN in comparison. I think not!

I'm sure this has been dragged over coals many times but without searching to find out I thought I'd put my inexperienced experience about trigger pull and cocking of the few air guns I have.

First off, I'm not putting down any or uplifting any, just my opinion.

I know for sure that the FX has the best trigger pull and unbelievable cocking mechanism! Can't believe anyone can argue that.

Next is the LCS, trigger pull, of course no cocking.

Without covering all my guns the HATSAN has the hardest trigger pull and for the non semi-auto the hardest cocking mechanism.

Having said that I totally enjoy all of them.

Is there a way to adjust the trigger pull on HATSAN's?

Joe
Fx has the best trigger pull and no arguing with that? Lol apparently you never shot a daystate redwolf etc… raw, Ataman and the list goes on.. I had a bunch of fx’s and would never say they have the best triggers

Holy Crap Batman!!! What a bunch of trigger happy....trigger sensitive, trigger I know more than everyone about the best trigger.

Gezz guys, as I stated clearly in my OP as an UNEXPERANCED guy, I was only talking about the guns I owned. In NO WAY was I trying or implying that I was the GOD of triggers. Wow.

Moderators, please close this most ridiculous thread.

BTW....the FX that I was talking about was so easy to cock the next round in...just took such light force compared to the other "bolt action" PCP's I have. Smooth as silk in MY OPINION.

Having said that I sold that FX because it didn't seem to me that as a .30 cal it just didn't have the same power as my other .30 cal guns. Only going by or judging by the sound of the impact of target. My LCS and HATSAN .30 cal seemed to hit MUCH harder.

However, the FX trigger pull was much Smoother than the Hatsan which translates into better accuracy.

Yep.

I'm bored as a new retired fart so I'll make one last post here..

This, In My Opinion is the most awesome pcp gun I own. Yes, it's made in China but it kicks butt...and is dead accurate, has never jambed and is a .457 cal semi-auto. Totally a killer machine.

It also has a great trigger pull. :)
I have the DonnyFL for it. Are suppressors, moderators not available theses days??

I like the trigger on my Steyr LG110, it’s the ball bearing trigger and it’s just perfect set at 5 oz.
Followed by my RedWolf (electronic trigger) and my RAW.
The worst trigger is on my Webley Tempist pistol, you have to pull hard to break it, but still lots to like about the little beast😊!
Edit: Don’t let the critics make you quit posting, it really doesn’t matter in the slightest what they think.
Even if you post the wrong information it’s just a misunderstanding.
That being said how dare you like FX triggers😂.

@JOERM - don't get too bent out of shape over people expressing their opinions in an open forum. It's not even about people being elitist or trigger snobs. We are a passionate group here and all have different opinions about what makes a trigger "the best". We also all have experience with different brands of airguns and not all cover the same ground. And, people express themselves differently with no ill intent. It takes a thick skin to express an opinion and not react emotionally to those who disagree. If you can read through all that without getting offended you can take something positive out most threads.

At the risk of drawing flak, I'd venture to say that electronic triggers are not triggers but switches. Just a thought, never tried one - but if it works for you then great! :)

I have two 10 Feinwerkbau meter rifles (300, 603) and pistols (100, Px8) with incredible triggers on them but I wouldn't want a trigger that sensitive on a plinking or hunting gun.

No complaints about Air Arms, Feinwerkbau, FX, Walther, or Weihrauch triggers, think they are all very good to excellent.

I can work with any trigger that's reasonably consistent and not overly heavy.

Just my .02 worth. Been a shooter for more than a few years.
Daystate and Brocock are smooth operating levers and sport
easily adjusted and smooth triggers.
As another person posted earlier, as long as the trigger is adjusted to your likes
and is easy for you to use, it is a good trigger.
The Brocock I recently purchased used, had the trigger adjusted to a point that I found
almost unusable. But I am sure it was to the PO's liking.
I adjusted the first stage and the second stage and trigger position. Now it is perfect...... for me.
Interesting thread. There is definitely a bias towards about 3 or 4 brands that make the top of everones lists.

You are correct. I have a Red Wolf, and after considerable effort, I finally got the trigger to my satisfaction. I adjusted out the first stage completely, as I found it relatively useless, and it is now a single stage with a release of 4 ounces. Being experienced with light-pull triggers, it is fine for me as a target and bench rifle. I would adjust it heavier for field use. Since the electronic trigger is a pressure switch, the application of that pressure does not give the same clean, crisp sensation of release when compared to a good, mechanical trigger. Having read the praises of electronic triggers for several years, I believe that most folks who offer such opinions have never experienced a really good, match grade mechanical trigger. I'm not being critical of the electronic trigger, but it is a different animal, and depending on your experience and intended use, it might (or not) be your choice.
