Recently iornlion posted a thread on naming your airrifle. I call my Benjamin Trail 177 “ sh*t of a rifle “ because well, you’ll have to read the post but the gist of it is that it kills scopes on a monotonous basis. I have tried the Sportsmatch dampa mount, it wouldn’t hold consistent groups and I tried the ZR mount with no success also. In one of my rants in a post on this problem someone eluded that my mount may have been a first generation mount.
A week or so ago I saw a deal online for a cheap 4*12*40 Niko Stirling Scope with a ZR mount for $139.00 Aus. So I thought I’d give it one more try after contacting the store. This ZR mount is definitely a 2nd generation model, vastly more improved then my first mount.
So far so good, ive put about 240 pellets through the “ sh*t of a rifle “ and all’s good, consistent groups and back to its old accuracy. Might have to change its name. Fingers crossed I might order another one for my 22 cal Trail.
