The 230 barrier is breached twice with the Red Wolf 🐺 Walnut

I was shooting my 22 red wolf tonight, with the new to me knockouts, and I blasted above 230 back to back - two cards.

it was really quite intense. I was literally thinking the pellet into the bull’s-eye. And my misses were mostly nines.

I totally love this rifle. And I also totally understand that shooting two cards like this means nothing as it pertains to competing against a bunch of other guys on a windy day. But it was still really freaking cool.

Enjoy, still getting a rush and it was hours ago.

thanks for all of the help.

James. Center cut sent me a link to the target. There is also one on his permanent post about a virtual BR contest.

I didn’t do anything to the pellets except for lubed them a little bit right before shooting.

Mike - amazing shooting!

What velocity and power level were you shooting with the Knock outs? I shot 5 EBR Target cards today, but did have some occasional 3-4 mph variable gusts at 50 and 100 yards. Shot 3 cards with RDs and two others with Knockouts. Nothing higher than a 220 for me for this session. Barrel may now need a cleaning too, since I put about 275 rounds through it since getting it back from Bob and AoA.

Still, I could not get any accuracy with the Knockouts on either high or medium power when I waited for winds to calm. The RDs shoot great at 970, but am curious to know your velocity with both 230 cards with the KOs?

Mine shoots the RDs at 970 FPS on medium for reference.

My chrony just died for about the fourth time. I am shooting the R D’s At 970.

I’m learning that a card in the 220s is a very good score. Especially when we’re shooting in such good conditions. I have no idea what will happen at a match with 10 to 15 mile an hour winds.

220’s are good scores and I know if the wind was at 10-15-20 mph, I would be in the 190’s or low 200’s in a match. I just need a lot of practice, ”patience,” experience and the acquired knowledge to improve wind reading. That’s not asking too much! Yeah....right.😂

Mike, I understand you shot 970 FPS with RDs, but my question was “Do you know ‘approximately’ the velocity and what power setting were you using for the Knock outs?”

Tommy, in the RW HP gen2 GCU, the KOs fly about 30 FPS less than the RD Monsters.

Thanks Mike.

I slapped FX Radar on yesterday and I saw them fly in the low 940’s on medium power, so that equates to your findings also. I didn’t do well at that velocity, ( groups opened up, but I’ll try again and keep at it.)

I may have missed wind calls too.
