Here's some pics of the pellet trophies that were given out to the winners of the 2018 Extreme Benchrest Competition.
I managed to pull off a quick photo shoot before leaving for AZ. Here they all are, finished, starting with the one that went to the EBR Grand Champion winner Claudio!!
This one was always meant to be for the top prize winner since its initial concept on paper.
I really like the "pop" that the pink adds to this one.
Another one of my favorites. I really like how the red and blue came out as well as the bamboo staircase.
This one was quite possibly my favorite. Definitely one of the top 2, IMO.
This pattern was one of my very first concepts from over a year prior.
The curly wood in the center has so much life when you see it in person. It looks like it's on fire!
Another one of my first concept designs from over a year ago.
Sometimes it takes a second to realize the pattern on this one.
They call this a book match pattern. I think Dakota got this one.
Orange and blue has always been one of my favorite color combos.
It was an honor and a privilege to make these for such a big event!
It's really a thrill for me to see them in videos, pictures, and newspaper articles with the smiling faces of the winners.
I also made some larger Pellet Clocks to donate to the raffle. It's was pretty neat watching the pile of tickets grow for something I made.
The clocks had a different spin on them. I didn't want them to have all the flash that the trophies had. I wanted a more subtle and classy look for these so that they could be displayed somewhere other than a man room.
This one was my favorite of the three.
I put a satin finish on this one and our very own Michael Wendt was a big fan of it! In fact, he ended up winning this one!
The last one got a lot more compliments than I was expecting. It was a last minute decision to finish it and bring it along but, I'm really glad I did!
Hope you enjoyed all the pics! And, if you happened to win any of these, I truly hope you like it and congratulations!
Happy Shooting!
Tom
