The 1977 Sheridan Is a chippy 🐿 hunting machine.

4 for 4 this afternoon. Although one took me two shots, I blew the first one right by him. He didn’t seem alarmed.

A factory Sheridan CO2 rifle I believe would put them out there around 590 to 600 ft./s. This is a little hotter at around 675. When that 20 caliber pellet hits them. It’s all over.

Out past 20 yards, the chipmunk looks so small through the peep site. And I’m obviously aiming at their heads. I mentioned the trigger on this rifle is delightful. It seems to go off on its own at the perfect time. I have no other real explanation for the head shots with open sites at 25 yards.

if you can find one of the old Sheridan CO2 rifles, I would highly recommend it.

Mike, that Sheridan is a beauty, looks light and sweet handling. My eyes are much too old for peep sight nowadays... Good shooting.

Flintsack, that is a beautiful rifle. The stock looks like the one on the Winchester M-70 Feather Weight. If that rifle was commercially available I would be buying my first PCP.

Yeah, Don Martin was one of my favorites! I never really read Cracked although Don Martin did work for them for about 6 months.

The original C02 silver and blue streaks can still be found. And then you really wouldn’t have to go with a PCP.

And yes the checkering does match up with the model 70 featherweights.

Gotta admit, that 13.73 gr Jsb dome shoots even better than the original 15.5 gr Sheridan cylindrical pellet did, (probably doesn't hit near as hard though)..

The Crosman .20 dome is an interesting looking pellet, I gotta admit. 14.3 gr's? Sectional density would be higher than w/ a 14.3 gr .22. That would make a difference at 50 yards.
