Shot my best 50 yard session tonight with the .22 HW97. (5) 10 shot groups. 44 of 50 shots inside the 10 ring. Slight tail wind but no gusts. This one will be hard to beat. 
That will probably not happen again

I got one but I shoot offhand only finding the model too unbalance that way.

You are right. I could never offhand group my .20 HW97K-T as well as my HW98 .20.
You should try one!
Then you'd be able to have it happen again!

That’s awesome. Fantastic shooting. I would be so proud if those were my springer groups. I’m mostly a pcp shooter but if I ever get another springer it will be an HW97.

I have a 98 in .20. They are great rifles, but I’m more comfortable with the 97. Even off hand, do better with the 97k.

In this case you proved me to see every person has a rifle that shoots just right for all things.
Sorry to say negative things about the 97 but the one I have in .20 K-T has been a constant problem offhand.

I have a KT in .177. I’ve swapped stocks on numerous occasions and found the K to be better off hand. For me at least. I actually stripped and refinished the KT, along with putting a groove on the stock to make thumb up more natural with it

Great groups. Took my 97K in .20 out today as well. Had a good group going until the wind kicked up. Yours are wonderful. Plenty there to brag about.
I was torn between the 97 and 98. Ended up on the 97K and very happy.

Good shootin' and just consider the source telling you about a 98 over a 97! When the 98 comes within 100-200 wins on the FT compared to the 97 maybe something can be said.

Thank you all for the comments. Like the title says, this will be very hard for me to beat in the future. I’ve never had a 10 shot group at 1/2”, and to put 2 of them up back to back was pretty cool.

I have done 5 shot groups with my R1 on a number of ocassions but 44 out of 50.... Never...awesome day, that is one to remember!!
