Don’t now how y’all feel about it; but although it’s been almost six months since the last TEXtreme Bench-Rest Silhouette match, to me it feels more like almost 24 weeks! But weather permitting, we’ll have a nice BRS competition this-coming Saturday at the Central Texas Rifle & Pistol Club… shooting off cement benches, planted on a cement slab, under full-shade of awning, with a giant fan blowing across the firing line, and ice-cold bottled water and beverages not only on hand, but GRATIS. How can you beat a deal like that?
The aforementioned points suggesting “weather permitting” does not disqualify 100+ degree heat, notwithstanding flooding, blizzards, and/or lightning storms, WE’RE GOOD Y’ALL! I’m really looking forward to it.
The gate will be open by noon for set-up, sight-in and practice. We’ll try to start the shooters meeting around 1 PM, and some of us will probably enjoy a group dinner at a good local Mexican restaurant after the match. They also have excellent margaritas.
One reason I’m really looking forward to this BRS match is because after a couple years of exploring the airgun dark side in fits and starts with little to no success, I finally have an air rifle that shoots slugs well enough to contest the Slug division. For some reason inexplicably attracted to the least probable slug caliber, my .177 slug shooter is an assemblage of mostly Chinese components spanning over forty years of production!
Attached are the BRS rules, and a map of the area around Ranchito Robinson and the Central Texas Rifle & Pistol Club. Maggyy and I look forward to seeing y’all on Saturday.
See You Then,
Ron & Maggyy
