Texas Bluebonnets in Full Bloom

Hello everyone,

I know you good folks up North wish that the snow was all gone and some green grass and flowers covered the landscape. However down here in Deep East Texas we have already mowed the yard and enjoying a beautiful Spring day. My brother lived in the Hill Country of Texas, Fredericksburg to be exact, before he passed away, and he gathered up a bunch of Texas Blue Bonnet seeds for me a couple of years ago. I planted them and boy did they grow great for me, here are a couple of photos that I took this morning, hope it will make you day a bit better.

Yep that lady planted the side of almost every road in the Hill Country with beautiful wild flowers, it is a wonderful trip in Spring. Myself and a dozen of my motorcycle buddies use to make several trips out there every year and when the weather was just right, the air was full of the aroma of the flowers. End the day in Luckenbach Texas, for a really cold Shiner Beer and some great music. Ride most of the night getting back home

I'll be having a cold Lone Star out by the washer pit this coming month . Hoping the paintbrush and black eye susans will be out and mingling with the blue bonnets .

This weather has been perfect for them, it 77 here now and a light rain so the flowers will grow another inch tonight.

I believe that I have 50-weight blood in my system, because that kind of cold brings me to a complete halt. My face hurts, my feet hurt, my fingers stop working and what is left of my brain goes dead
