After harvesting my big boar 2-3 weeks back it’s been quiet on my buddies place til this past week. We started having 2 boars come in to a spot that we hand corn for deer. This boar started coming in and hitting this spot for 10-15 minutes every day, 2-3 times a day. We went in on Wednesday to put a ladder stand up. I was in the location for about 2 hours getting the stand put together and ran out of light to get it set up and had to leave it laying on the ground. The boar came into the spot about 2 hours after I left. My buddy took his tractor down a finished putting the stand up the next day and put out another bag of corn. The boar was in there 30 minutes after he left that afternoon and came back in 3 times during the night. I was off Friday and decided to get in the stand and sit for awhile that night b4 the storms came thru. Was in the stand for about 2 hours when the lightening started and I bailed. No lightening rod for me. Walked back out to my truck and waited for the storm to past. When it pasted I walked back to the edge of a trail cutting thru the brush to the corn. I stood for about 1 1/2 hours before big boy came in to snack. He ran out of the spot twice before he made his final mistake. He cam in a third time and turned to face me at about 18-20 yards. I couldn’t tell what I was but didn’t like it and kept popping his cutters together. He finally turned and gave me the shot I wanted. The Texan SS .457 put it on the spot and he dropped like a ton of bricks. Weighed 212 lbs with some decent cutters. Having the head done now. Only have a few pics because my buddy had crashed out and didn’t come down to help with pics.
will post pics in a few minutes. ( Didn’t have them on my iPad.)
