Tethering Your Air Rifle

If I understand you correctly, TETHERING is done by connecting your main air tank (Scuba) to the air cylinder of your gun like you do when filling the air cylinder... but in this case you will leave the scuba valve open and the filling hose connected to your gun...Your scuba and air cylinder will then have the same BAR pressure and you will be able to shoot as long as there is enough "shooting pressure" in the scuba tank.

Tethering becomes a hazard when the scuba tank holds more pressure than the air cylinder in the gun...For example: If you have a 4500 PSI tank and your gun's cylinder only holds 200 Bar, then you can not do it without a pressure controlled valve (regulator) that will limit the input to 200 BAR...
Most people who have a 4500 PSI tank fill their gun's air reservoir watching the pressure gauge in the gun's cylinder and then close the valve manually...You can not do any of this while Tethering...

Shooting ranges FORBID tethering because of the liability & potential hazard of having hoses and fixtures under pressure all the time...If a hose or something explodes, either the hose or maybe the fixtures can hurt the guy shooting next to you, etc..

If you are doing it at home, make sure the scuba tank is in front of you a few feet and to the side of the bench and always use hoses and fixtures that are made of good quality materials and that are in good condition...
