Is there a rule of thumb on where to set your regulator when tethering. I have a Wildcat MK2 230bar (3335psi) fill and a Impact M3 250bar (3625psi) fill.

I dont think so, i use the same regulator setting shooting from the gun bottle, or tethered as i mostly shoot.
So for my .177 Maverick with a 600 mm barrel that is 130 bar on the front regulator and 100 bar on the back / shot regulator.

Between 2800 to 2850 psi for best consistency from what I read regards to in line regulated tether.

Being tethered allows you to keep your fill pressure consistent. Considering the high fill pressure is only set so high for the high shot count, you should try it around 2100-2300psi.
My Condor can send 32 at 1040 and Scandalous 72 at 980 on 2300psi.
If I want to fill to 3000 or 3800, I would have to up my hammer weight or spring in the Condor. I've had that pretty hot. 28 at 1175

i chrono the gun and set it to its optimum speed pressure ..im not trying to save gas when tethering ..

Set it within the gun's "sweet spot". Mine shoot best between 2250psi-1650psi so if it were me I'd set Tethering reg for about 2000ish.

does it matter in a regulated gun, besides how much you might lose releasing line pressure when you disco?
