Testing my Raw at 100 yards today.

Just finished mowing my 100 yard range and had to test my Raw .22 at 100 yards .
Wouldn’t ya know as soon as I get set up the winds pick up in NE Ohio . The mirage was crazy today !

I’m practicing up for the Pyramid cup .
Hopefully I can get a calm day and see if I can get some better targets .

Nice bipod…can the bushings its riding on roll on the table?

Second question …I always felt .25cal pellets were superior to .22 pellets
Mostly my shooting experience…they just seem to hold on better in the wind.

Why did u opt for .22
The bushing is made of rubber hose and pushed over a knurled piece of aluminum.

Good shooting at 100 William G!

Here are some of my targets shooting my RTI Prophet Performance V1 .25. It has a Lothar Walther 1:32 slow twist polygonal barrel.

Targets I am showing a mix of the 3 different pellets I’ve tried at 100: FX 25.4, H&N 30 and FX 34g.

The 25.4s can shoot awesome, until there is wind - then those short little pellets blow around like crazy, lol. The 30s can be good - but the 34s seem best at battling wind.

As a reference, I’ve included a 5 shot group at 49.3 (I wrote 45 on target but later measured) with the 25.4s - it shows that my rifle is super tight with the 25.4s out to say 70 - but after that its all about wind.

Another target shows my progression “zeroing by velocity” lol - I shot 1st shot with 25s at 980fps, next two 920, dropped a couple down to 830 and then at 865 shot 10 at the 3” splatter.

The black splatters are 3” and the blue is 2”. All these are pretty good results for me. I often put my targets on paper plates. I’ve never missed the entire 5.5” paper plate at 100 due to wind yet - but had a couple shots that almost did, lol.

I’m gonna focus on tuning the 34g at 100 for awhile, but I’d rather shoot the 25.4s as my tune is so mild - rifle is so docile to shoot with them.

The 25.38 pellets are not much fun on a windy day.
