Tested 18.1gr. JSB

So, I got bored one night and decided to weigh individual pellets from a 500ct. tin of JSB 18.13gr. I used my Hornady powder digital scale which seems to be pretty close. My results were 17.7gr.- 18.5gr. Which I was surprised to see such a difference in weight. Then I shot them from my FX Royale @ 50yds. No POI change at that distance. I did shoot a few @ 100yds and the lighter pellets seem to group better out of my rifle. That makes sense because my Royale prefers JSB 15.89gr. Just fruit for thought.

That variation is pretty crazy. I honestly believe now that inconsistent pellet weights have been a major factor with accuracy issues out of my Leshiy. I have a new scale coming tomorrow, so I'm going to get into the business of weighing / sorting to see if my theory is correct.

I would agree with Ghost as I believe the weight is very importent, unfortunatly I havent figured out the weight yet as it's still cold and wind blowing about 30-40 for the last week.

Does anyone know the pellet design speed for the JSB 18's? Or should I say, how fast do you shoot them for the best grouping?
