Air Arms Tell me about the Shamal?

A buddy bought a Shamal in .22 with scope online just for the scope. He's not an airgunner and has offered it to me.Not sure if it functions or not but is appears to be a walnut sporter.
I've googled and found info but not much on resealing should it be necessary.
any Shamal experts here?
I should have it in hand when he visits in a couple weeks.

it arrived. It had air in the tube and after I adjusted the trigger to hold it worked fine.The fill fitting on the end it a bit different than the male threads on my foster fittings but exactly like a fill adapter for an anschutz 1915 I had around. Any idea of options to fill?

Just an FYI: Air Arms is one of the most responsive air rifle companies when emailed. The ladies who respond go right to the techs for answers if needed.

Technology does seem to have left this behind.But it is just a beautiful piece of kit.

I bought my Shamal back in 1989 or 88 at the Midwest regional in Michigan from the then British field target champion Mickey and I can’t remember his last name. I enjoyed that rifle for several years shooting the circuit in the US. Alas it ended up somewhere else and I can’t recall to whom.

Success..Amazon 1/8 BPSS fits and it's again full of air!

took the old rifle down to the canyon for the maiden voyage.I shot at 25 yards off the hood of the truck. I filled it to 2400 and used 4.52 JSB 8.44 exacts.Scope was 3-9 Nikon EFR.Im pleased so far.
Targets numbered in order shot while I was getting a zero.

Those were grand rifles for the time, everyone wanted one. They are still great, high quality construction and beautiful.
