Air Arms Tell me about the Shamal?

A buddy bought a Shamal in .22 with scope online just for the scope. He's not an airgunner and has offered it to me.Not sure if it functions or not but is appears to be a walnut sporter.
I've googled and found info but not much on resealing should it be necessary.
any Shamal experts here?
I should have it in hand when he visits in a couple weeks.
