Teflon seal question on hand tight scba fill adapter.

Hi guys. I recently bought some Teflon seals off ebay for my Scott air pack hand tight scba fill adapter. I always thought that Teflon seals self lubricate but they are cracking much faster than I thought. Do you guys think I should put a bit of divers grease on the seal to reduce friction a bit? Is there a better lube? Also I saw that airtanksforsale has an adapter very similar to mine that uses viton seals. Are these better than Teflon? Thanks dudes. I got like 12 seals but if I blow a seal every 5 fills that's a little annoying.

Almost sounds like they are the wrong size, or not hard enough. Friction? On the oring? It should be going straight in, not twisting when you "hand" tighten the nut. Should not be much "friction" there.

My manifold is too big. I have to take it off to store. However I will remedy that soon. I was a noob when I made it. I just got into airguns and I built it from parts on hand from my garage.I didn't have a 4 sided npt so I just made a long one with 3 sides.

It's like 2 ft long lol. I didn't know that you should leave it on tho. As for heat it doesn't seem like it gets too hot. I do crack it as slow as I can. Perhaps a rebuild with a smaller unit and microbore hose is in order. ty guys ps sorry about the messy picture lots of stuff going on on that workbench!
