I have been in the market for a PCP air rifle for over a year now. I love my Gamo Swarm Maxxim .22 break barrel that I got in July 2018 for $171 from Amazon. After over 4000 rounds in it, and now with a new piston seal, 5300+ rounds, and it’s still plenty of fun. I would highly recommend it if you are into break barrels and are disciplined enough and steady enough to hold it correctly, so it shoots accurately (took me awhile). But I've grown up a bit and knew that someday I’d like to make the jump to PCP. But, with hand pump – Ugh! -oh well. Have been looking carefully at the Benjamin Fortitude Gen2, Umarex Gauntlet, Diana Stormrider, Seneca Aspen, etc. But a month or so ago I decided I really wanted something better, as each seemed to have its pros and cons. So I was ready to get the Benjamin Marauder as soon as I saw a good deal or price drop, which has not happened…yet. Late last night when I saw Ted's review, and UpNorthAirGunner review, I started thinking about it, and really had a rough night sleep! I couldn't help myself, so this morning I got up – without even coffee or breakfast! - and immediately ordered the Air Venturi Avenger .22 and the Air Venturi MK4 Kit by Hill Hand Pump and JSB Match Diabolo Exact Jumbo Heavy .22 Cal, 18.13 Grains, Domed, 500ct, 5.52 mm pellets (same pellets that shoot the best in my Gamo Swarm Maxxim). Avenger is backordered till June 26, expected ship date is July 1. We'll see what happens. Avenger for $300 vs Marauder $500 (PyramydAir). Who knows, maybe by the time I get the Avenger the Marauder will have dropped in price…and if the Avenger don’t feel good in the hands or whatever, I’ll send it back…and then try the Marauder? Hence the sleepless night…Sorry for the babbling but hopes this helps others and promotes more discussion!
