Tariffs Explained - Pyramyd AIR Insyder

I was going to post this long, drawn out post directed at the OP of this thread asking how in god's name they can charge tariff pricing on pre-tariff inventory (example would be the bloated price on the Notos for 1) ...

But as I was about halfway into my post, I realized I was wasting my time by even bothering so I will just show my displeasure with the companies that are basically breaking the law as what could be considered "price gouging" by simply Not doing business with the bandits in the future.....

A little confused on this, the price of the Notos hasn't changed in quite a while, maybe since it was released. At least not on our end. Some manufacturers/distributors have taken prices up, but some have had inventory arrive within the last month that has been subject to those higher tariff rates. I think most have tried to hold off increases and will continue to do so as long as inventory allows. When they increase prices, you can expect retail prices to go up as well.

And in general, let's not forget that even during this next 90 day period, there's still a 30% tariff in play that was not there prior to all of this starting. So I would still anticipate prices going up for those that haven't had new inventory arrive just yet, but will. I could see the possibility of some companies taking prices up to intentionally slow sales of pre-tariff inventory down in order to wait out the uncertainty, but that's just one of many potential reactions that could happen.

I think UPS is a day or two behind. They instituted the tariff regime and now they have to rescind it. They also have to wait on guidance from their legal department with regard to which tariffs are still applicable.
Apparently the import duties are correct and valid.

Nope. We are supposed to stop buying their stuff which will definitely happen. Everyone pays for sure. Seems that guy could get that amount adjusted seeing the tariff is now 30% for 90 days right ?
No ! The US importer is paying the tariff and will add the increased expense to the end price, so the US consumer will end up paying the higher price including the tariff 👍🙄😱
Maybe I didn’t make the sarcasm in my comment obvious enough :) the sad part is that some people don’t (want to) see that you guys are of course right…

I think there’s somewhat clear guidance from customs that decreases tariffs don’t apply to stuff imported prior to the decrease. So he’d have to decline deliver and reorder to benefit from the lower tariffs… and probably at least cover the additional shipping back and forth.

I’m definitely not ordering anything that doesn’t ship from within the U.S. for awhile for sure.

Tariffs apply when item reaches US port of entry.

I keep hearing that the big tariffs will be on items $800 and higher. Maybe that's just media BS.. who knows.
Given that the p35x cost the member and smidge over $600, those old import duty fees are out the window. I can only assume this only applies to Chinese merch though. So if you get an AGT, these extra tariffs may not apply.

The $800 de minimis exclusion from Customs duties was eliminated in one of the recent actions (for products originating from PRC & Hong Kong). Note the term 'originating', not 'shipping from' as one AGN member recently learned the hard way.

(As of TODAY I don't know whether the de minimis exclusion is still eliminated, or is in place again due to the recently announced 90 day pause?) In any case, I'm not currently buying anything shipped from an OUS source. Maybe I'm not alone and that has contributed to what I heard on the 'national news' last night that the rate of inflation is at a 4 year low? Folks not spending money generally causes inflation to go down (or so I have been led to believe).
