Targets by the Pound

Hello everyone,

Due to the bad weather I was not able to do very much target shooting this morning ... :D :ROFLMAO:o_O

Actually waiting for it to warm up a bit before I start shooting today and I decided to clean out one of my 3-ring binders that I keep already shot paper targets. That is only half of the targets shot in the last 3 months, I kept about that same amount. At least half of that stack is previously shot 30-Yard Challenge targets, man I shot a whole lot of those to get that 200 score. This make me wonder how many pounds of lead is out there in my yard

They really add up, don't they! I shot a card today with my Crown. First 16 shots were solid 10s. Then, for some strange reason the last eight shots shifted .5" up and right. I was testing a very slow tune, 750fps, and I think that may be the culprit.
Hi @tcarlson777

I am amazed sometimes when I stop and start to review my past shooting for several days. Wow, a big stack of targets that I haven't even scored or looked over. I sort through all of my targets and throw away those "bad" ones and keep the good ones to analyze and 3-hole punch them for a ring binder. After a while I have too many and re-sort and throw away some that looked good at the time ( if you know what I mean ) and throw them out. I have shot 12 targets today and only keeping two , but it is the wind fault....8 to 11mph from all directions. I did shoot a perfect score at 50-yards on one target and I am keeping that one (y):D(y).

Yeah, I hear ya! I don't know why I keep old shot targets. But I do. Not as like they’re worth anything! 🙄🤔
Hello @rsfrid

You know Ross I do think they are worth something, not money but sometimes I cannot remember what setting I had used and why I'm not shooting the same, so I look back at some that I have saved. Today's targets will not help in the future because the wind was so crazy, my "good shots" I think was just luck

I know I always throw my targets away wether their good or bad but now looking back I should have kept a few cuz they were some of the best groups I've ever shot whatever what's done is done
Hello @Hard2hurt223

Keep the really good ones so when you cannot hit a barn door, you can look back and feel better :D

You could always send them to me ;) I used to use newspapers to start a fire in my wood stove but newspapers are going the way of the doe doe bird. I've not seen a newspaper in a few years and my supply is getting pretty low.

I used to save my old targets but now I just save them on my phone.
Hello @igolfat8

Believe it or not, I use these to start a fire in my big smoker. I do not use liquid fire starter so I make a bed of waded up targets, add charcoal and a layer of red oak wood and a match. Forty-five minutes later I have a bed of hot coals and ready to smoke some meat. It's a shame what comes out 😛
