Tank?

Hello.

I have a real nice carbon dioxicede tank. Can that be used to fill a PCP. Is it air or not. It is just a idea.

I doubt you will be able get it filled at a commercial facility because of the valve and the rating of the tank. Co2 is typically around 900 psi.

Read the code on the tank for pressure ratings. Dot code for working pressure on a carbon dioxide tanks is typically 1800psi. The code for a PCP tank is 3000-4500psi.

They also have dates on them for when they need their next test and when they will expire.

My recommendations is that you use air, which is what it is designed for. I have seen in other forums of people with serious burns and airguns explode by introducing different gases into the airgun.

The examples you see with burns/explosions are when people use compressed oxygen (O2) in their airguns. This is definitely a no-no.

Technically, CO2 should be ok assuming you were able to get it at the required pressures. However, I would choose N2 over CO2.
