Tuning Talondor .25 upgrade barrel 18.5".

Dropped a Tj unchoked 1-22 twist in Talondor. Due to rain only did chrony. This setup should make excellent 100+ pester.

Could you expand on your choice of a 1-22 twist barrel for a slug shooter.

Yessir, first i wanted a bbl that would shoot a specific slug and shoot pellets as well. All my research pointed to 1-22 twist for the .25 cal. Being Tj bbls are .250 and nsa slugs in 33.5 and 36.2 are the same. I had the leade cut to exact copy of the 36.2. The 33.9 just slide in a tad further. The bonus is it shoot jsb 33.9. Hole in hole @ 45 yds. I lube the slugs and pellets with a 50/50 mixture of wd-40 and marvel super lube. Works for me however your miles may vary.

Gotcha, just gave been on the fence awhile in barrel consideration, and had thought 1-22 twist too slow for use with slugs.

I know he LW barrels do a pretty good job unchoked handling NSA slugs, but I still want to try a TJ's barrel, and have been weighing over options on which way to go.

Congrats on your selection.

Sweet. Great group.

Just doing up a Talondor built on a .25 w/12" barrel shooting JSB 25.39 at 846 fps. Purpose for that rifle is 50 yard squirrels. Will start a different thread. Might get something interesting going. =)

Cornpone, i would highly suggest you go with this 3.5" spring or clip one coil off hammer spring to control preload. You can control speed with power wheel a lot better.

Sixty foot pounds will get that job done for sure. I did buy five different springs and ended up picking the lightest one of the batch. I'll see if I can find the information on that spring. Mine is currently set up with a 90 gram hammer as well but that needs to go into a different thread. I want to hear more about your rifle. Aren't these 'murican made AF rifles just great for hunting? I love mine.
