Talon ss leak

New to airguns just bought a talon ss and after a few shots when I get to 2000 psi after shooting the tank continues to let air out till I move the bolt slightly forward. I took a video but not sure how to upload to this forum.

I am assuming that that design of Talon SS is similar. It is quite clear from your video that the firing valve fails to close until assisted by your action to push the bolt forward. Usually such thing happens when the pressure inside the cylinder is not high enough to push against the hammer spring. If thats the case, you should see a very low fps. I will check the air passage between the cylinder and the nozzle to see if there are anything blocking it.

If the fps is normal, then there must be something severely obstructing the movement of the firing valve. Can be a fragment of broken O ring , metal burr or something like that

This is just base on my experience of working on other airguns. Other Talon owners should be able to offer more help. Good luck.

I just noticed that your Talon is regulated. One more possible reason , perhaps the most likely one, is that air is not going into the low side of the regulator quick enough to build up the pressure needed to close the firing valve. It can be an inherent characteristics of the regulator or something is blocking the air flow from the high side to the low side.

I tend to believe its just something normal for your regulator at 2000 psi. You just need to fill it up. The other thing you can do is to reduce the hammer spring tension by turning the power adjuster but that will reduce the power.

So I reduced power as you suggested and that worked! Thank you for your help

Put a heavier valve return spring in the valve, or don't shoot below 2200 to 2300 psi. You are on the verge of tank dump. Once it happens, you won't forget it. LOL!

Knifemaker thank you for your response. This is my first pcp rifle so hopefully you dont mind the novice questions. The heavier valve return spring your talking about is that on the gun or the tank? And where would one go about purchasing a heavier spring?

The firing valve spring is located at the output side of the regulator. When you push the output nipple , you are pushing against that spring
