I was adjusting the power wheel on my Talon P powered off CO2 the other day, and found that as I increased the pre-load from the default setting, I didn't really gain any velocity but my extreme spread got smaller and smaller. I've got to say, I was expecting the velocity to increase as I turned up the preload. Testing was stopped when ES was 1.6fps; this was at power wheel 10-1.
Should I have gone further to get a velocity increase or would I have started to waste CO2? I've only a hand pump to fill with right yet, so experimenting with CO2 is far less demanding of me.
Also, for the same hand pump reason, I will be hunting small pests off the CO2 also. Strelok allows to plot velocity against temperature, and I would like to know if I should go off outside air temp or off the temp of the CO2 bottle.
