My new Taipan Veteran Long in .22 arrived today. I quickly mounted a scope, added some air and got to shooting. Here's the target with the yardages marked. As you can see, the 30 and 50 yards 9 shot groups are pretty good. The pellet hole with black marker was the original 50 yard sighter. I moved the turrets after that and shot 9 at the bullseye. The 80 yard group was pushed by wind quiet a bit, and as you can see, another low sighter before I moved the turret.
Dairyboy originally owned this gun and shot it 15 times before selling it to me. The gun is from Talon Tunes and is shooting the 18 JSB's at 982 ft sec.
I'm a hunter so this was enough target shooting for me. I made up a ballistic chart for up to 100 yards and went looking for ground squirrels. Let's just say it wasn't their lucky day, in less than an hour I'd killed 7 ground squirrels from 20 to 55 yards (which was a double) and connected on a pigeon at 81 yards. Not bad for the first day!
BTW, Dairyboy (Dillon) is a stand up guy. He was great to talk to, calmed my fears of sending someone I didn't know a bunch of $$, and promptly sent me a gun exactly as he described with a couple of goodies to boot!
I'm new to this board and quickly discovering there are some great people here. Dillon is one of them.
