Dunking in water is for sure the last resort! About the only time I would use the voyage to the bottom of the sea method without hesitation is for troubleshooting a suspect pressure gage on guns with pressure gages far enough forward away from the action, like on air tube guns like wildcat MK1-MK3, Gamo Urbans, etc,
Then it’s just a barrel clean and lube. If you so choose to dunk the entire gun in a bath tub just know that you’re going to have to take the entire gun apart to dry every nook and cranny inside the action and re apply fresh lubes. You also chance a leak in another area of the gun doing it this way, so also know that you had better have on hand the guns complete o ring kit so you can just swap in new ones during reassembly.
So for this method of finding leaks, I say its for adults only; dunking the entire gun is the rated XXX version, ha ha
