Hello AirgunNation Peoples,
I ran across one of the best accessories I’ve installed on my FX Dreamline from a kool fellow air-gunner and seller on eBay! It is a thin yet strong 3d printed barrel band for the FX Dreamline (air cylinder models). The price is so low that it would almost make no sense not to try one! Like I mentioned this little 3d printed barrel band is strong and not at all a eye-sore to look at. It blends well with the already black anodized parts of the Dreamline. If I had any reservations about the looks, they quickly went away after test shooting groups. All POI shift is eliminated!!! I literally shot a 3 shot 100 yard group that I couldn’t see the impact hole because it was hidden behind the dead center of the crosshair aim point! This little guy is strong and the barrel is now absolutely rock solid! I like this design because it compresses onto the air cylinder securely and causes 0% damage to the finish or metal. There are no downward forcing grub screws eating into the barrel shroud or air cylinder. I know they say free floating this and that regarding barrel harmonics, but in my use harmonics nor accuracy is affected. If I have the need(which is rare) to have to remove the Smooth Twist Liner, then I would simply loosen the fastening screw and slide the barrel band off and proceed with the liner removal process. Reinstallation would be just as easy as long as I secure the band again with the barrel centered in it’s natural rest position. It would make sense to check my zero afterwards also, which shouldn’t require very many scope clicks.
Well, enough of my rambling. Here is the eBay link, pictures of my DreamPup and the barrel band, and a YouTube video from the creator aka Lead Slinger explaining his awesome product!
