... Taipan VL.25 ... Ground Squirrel ... They Have A Death Wish

Went to the permission to cut firewood and of course brought the Taipan, just in case.

I was there five minutes and the brother of property owner was following behind me in his truck. I stopped short of the killing zone to let him get first crack at it and we chatted about the GS and the bobcat that is killing them and how it approached him and came within 30' the day before.

He hadn't seen any GS that day and we parted. He turned through the orchard and bypassed the honey hole so I went in. I was there two minutes and a juvenile showed and I did my job.

Five minutes go by and only because I was glassing heavily did I see one with only the head spying on me looking through grass and I did my job.

Down the hill to the wood pile to cut some cedar for kindling and two run from the orchard to the wood pile. Rinse and repeat but those two I didn't locate for their final portrait.

Two headshots at 40 and two body shots at near 50yards. I really prefer the chest shots and these were all Predator Poly Mag shot.

Four down and I got a call from The Missus asking me to join her in a taco feed, no firewood was harmed.

Well gentlemen,

Peanut butter, chocolate syrup and wild bird seed mix... all real good but it gets caught in my beard and then all over my stock, I think I better just stick to coffee while I hunt.

Squirrel heaven is probably getting crowded, I guess that's where they all go, no wait, what about predator poop piles. Are we talking the physical body or the spiritual side of things.

Humor is what we all need and appreciate, keep it coming, I like it.

Good luck with your pesting, stay healthy and safe
