Taipan VL .25 ... 25 yards ... ground squirrel

This is turning out to be probably the warmest day of the year so far and man the ground squirrel sure got stupid.

I saw this one waited less than 10 minutes and it came out there and just stared at me at 25 yards.

Shot in the left side of the face and it came out the right side of the body mid-ship.

This was the second one the first one I shot in the back when I was glassing for another one and I realized there was one at the bottom of my scope. I shot him he fell off went down into a hole.

I got my covid single dose today and I feel good but its a BIG BIG allergy day and it feels really good to kill something

Mr. JohnnyPDX,

Great write-up, even better marksmanship. You have mastered the Ground Squirrel Elimination Project.

I really appreciate your new avatar, your are Patriot and I am proud to know you!!!

Got my Taipan yesterday, I will hopefully get down to business with it in the next couple of days.

Good luck with your pesting, stay healthy and safe.

Mr. JohnnyPDX,

The Stars and Stripes fly proudly at my place, we installed a Harbor Freight telescopic pole with a lighted topper. I only lower the flag when we have severe weather.

My Taipan Veteran is from Mr. Annuzzi of Talon Tunes, the TT, .22 long, green laminated stock package. I have been retired for sometime and needed something I could do at home, air rifles fit this need perfectly.

My ground squirrel hunting is from the log decks I have, usually 1 or 2 squirrels a month. I have a good semi secluded hide at 30 yards from the logs, easy shot for the several PCP rifles I have, but challenging for me.

Got this squirrel yesterday, a large male, used the Crown .25 shooting NSA slugs. First picture is the entrance wound (look close) and the second picture is the exit wound. The resident fox got to eat the squirrel last night.
