just wondering what speeds your guns are like im shooting the 25 kings at a avg. 898 min 885 max 907 spread is 22 stdev 5.4 tahst 30 shots but after 40 it really starts to climb up into the 920 or so

Are you running a stubby, standard, or long? Big diff between them, I’m guessing it’s not a long? My long came out of the box shooting 25.4s at 1025 and 34 heavys at around 915, one of the best guns I’ve ever had!

My .25 Veteran Shorty shoots the 25.4 grain Kings at 860 FPS, about 42 FPE. Not bad for a 14 inch barrel.

nice looking gun centercut mines a standard its seems pretty good but I know there is more in it for sure, im going to do something with the stock either strip it down and oil it or have it dipped Donny fl speed dialer also

Douger, you have a nice pup there. Most of Taipans have the regs set too high. This gives a string that climbs as the pressure leaves the regulator’s set point.

yep I see that before as I was looking I think ill leave it alone for a while and just shoot it lol its pretty good as it is no reg tester so id rather not just keep taking it in and out how many different little indents to lower it

you could increase the hammer spring to match the reg pressure, to eliminate the fps increase at the end of your string

My .25 standard came shooting the 25.4's at 935-940 fps for about 40 shots at 3500 psi. I wanted to shoot in the 880 fps range but couldn't seem to get below around 920 fps without get a spike at the end of the string. I adjusted the reg in mine and it now shoots mid 880's for 40 shots with a 3000 psi fill. You're right about taking it in and out, it's a lot of trial and error. My biggest mistake was not initially making a large enough adjustment on the reg.

Contact "Papy_Yosh" on this forum for a snap-on biathlon lever for that rear cocking Taipan to make it easier to cock. Inexpensive and well worth the low cost....makes all the difference in the world than fumbling around with that OEM cocking lever. This fits right over the OEM lever, snaps on and stays on!!! He also has some snap-on cheek rests to avoid skin to metal when sighting the gun.
