So some how this happened . 

Top Vet is .177 standard set up for WFTF and Open division shooting. Middle one I just received today which was stuck in customs for the past 75 days and is also a .177 standard which I think I'm going to set up at 20ft lbs. The bottom Vet is my compact .22 with CZ barrel set up at 30ft lbs. I love every one of them....think I got the TAIPAN FLU . I think I need a .22 long with a CZ barrel to add to the TAIPAN Veteran Unicorn collection

I'm seriously considering a third now (a long) in .25 or for a .30 conversion project. These Taipans are about as close to mechanically perfect as I have seen to date!

Well I haven't shot a match with it as I just got it about 2 months ago and FT season in Ohio is over until spring. I think it will be fine.though but that has yet to be determined. Ive probaly owned 50 different Airguns and this platform is easily my favorite...just does everything well with a great trigger. I'm glad you got the Vets sorted out...at first I know you were frustrated with them but I'm glad u gave them a chance.

The skill you and Derek have in modding these is unbelievable. I just read what you guys do with amazement!

I’ve came close to getting a vet a couple of times. Mainly because of their reputation, the main reason I have got to other guns is the rear lever.

Terry yes it's a anschutz rail I inletted into the stock so I can use my RAW hamster setup with it. I also took off the buttpad and added a rail for the butthook and can easily be used with or without the butthook.

For the bad news, I definitely have some serious issues with my barrel, I ordered a smaller bore scope to check some areas where I'm seeing leading (and possibly the source of rust that keeps showing up on my patches) .. needed a smaller bore scope anyhow, so it's not the end of the world. That won't stop me from tossing the Vet to the side, I'm just going to install another barrel on it later this week lol

Question for you - do you have any idea what the weight differences are with the laminate and beech stocks? i.e., is the beech noticeably lighter?

My laminates are both standard Vets and the shorty is beach which would be exactly like what you have I believe.

Nice collection Kdog and just keep your eyes peeled you'll run across a CZ barreled long....see them every now and again!

finally after waiting and begging folks for over a year "luck" happened in my case . Ended up having to buy two just to get the one I wanted . Knowing that these versions were discontinued it was a no-brainer...

Had a photo shoot today with the family.

Really liking the gray laminate stock on the newest one. One thing I noticed was the two 177s serial numbers are only 2 apart. I got one from Talon Tunes and the other from the Netherlands. Kinda cool. One ends in 50 and the other 52.
