NICE ! Was the old finish hard to remove ? For the price of that gun you would think they would put a better finish on from the factory. Looks much better now. What kind of wood do you think they use ?

It might be nice to show this stock next to the original to show the modifications we did. I actually liked the feel of the original stock but extending and narrowing the forearm and thinning the pistol grip gives it just a lttle better feel (at least for me). Nice final touches!

Rocko- I would not advised stripping the stock to refinish it. It's very thin for one thing and from looking at the inletting, it appears to be made of particle wood. I'm not 100% sure that it is but you could certainly end up ruining the stock trying to refinish the black stock.

OEM and Walnut stock cut by NMShooter...

Sorry about the picture quality, but it shows the extended forearm for the Veteran Long. It makes a big difference when putting a picatinny rail up front for a bi-pod, light, bayonets, etc... AND...the gun balances better now. I put a DonnyFL Tanto up front. Being a long, it has a lot of shroud so a smaller moderator is all that is needed to bring the sound down to hammer slap/spring impact.

I fed it some VK hollowpoint slugs and got 67 FPE...this rascal is a long distance killer!!!

I spoke to R&L Airguns and they said the factory black stock was wood, not a composite/epoxy mix. It is very light. My guess is birch or some other inexpensive semi-hardwood.

Personally I'd strip it and see what turns up. I examined the insides closely and there were wood grain marks under the thin finish areas. If it goes South on you, let me know and I'll send you my old one.  (Just pay shipping and handling charges...operators are standing by!)
