Had some time today so thought I'd do some testing with my .25 Vet. One PP and extensively reworked/polished air ports - reworked trigger, smooth as silk now and the lightest pull possible (Taipan has the best trigger of any gun - period). Hammer spring mod is awesome, elongated a TT spring by .10mm - settled to about 8mm and added a buffer to help reduce any loss of air due to spring kickback after firing - surprised at how well this combination has worked. The gun has a LW polygonal barrel, crowned and lapped - testing today with AVS .253 HP/BT's in 46gr and some .218 Griffin 48gr. The AVS's, the .003 over fits the barrel better, like the slopped nose of the bullet and they do shoot very well but the Griffin is a bit more accurate - I'm doing nickels at 75yrds with the Griffin's - Quarter's with the AVS's - (both arguably better if I had a proper benchrest). Still trying to dial in the fps while trying to maintain highest possible fpe. attached chart shows my progress thus far....getting there (data in column F is my Vet .22 compact with a 18in. polygonal barrel). The addition of my steel ball bearing ballistic tip did improved accuracy but not by much - it did make a huge difference in that hard hitting thud when the bullet struck the target. The two bullets on the left are AVS 46's - one on the right is the Griffin 48. Waiting for some 48gr AVS's for a proper comparison but the barrel does seem to like the 48s.

Will be doing some moderator testing next week of two - DonnyFL vs Silent Thunder Ordnance - and can tell you now, the STO's will win by 10miles or more. I challenge anyone to look and compare (and try to understand) the technical information on Donny or any manufacture's website that sells moderators as compared to STO. Yes, the difference in sound suppression performance is that decisive. As for weight, STO wins again....not a hater's and I own a few DonnyFL's but they are bricks as compared to the STO's.. Already had the STO Falx and Sarissa - just received the Accipiter in the mail and OMG, that thing is feather light - no joke. but we're gonna test anyway just to confirm the numbers. The Ronin will be headed to ebay here shortly. Will say, the internal felt stuff Donny uses ain't all that good - I tried several dozen different baffle, media combinations and was able to lower the sound suppression performance of the Ronin by a least 5db.
