Taipan Taipan Veteran Compact/Short, slug or not to slug?

Tried some 22 grain FX hybrids in my .22 Vet shorty a couple years ago.
Couldn't get them to fly any faster than 790FPS.
They weren't any more accurate than pellets.

My current favorite tune is 14.35 JSBs at 870FPS.
Deadly accurate out to 60 yards.
70 shots per fill.
Super quiet and smooth shot cycle.
Love it!

Dumpling, what cal is your shorty?

.22, like it a lot - truck gun and doesn't gain attention from others. Simple, quiet, and accurate as heck. But I'm tempted by the Krait for a few features that a Taipan Vet just doesn't have.

I tried FX Hybrids, NSA (can't remember the size), and JSB knockouts. I have a veteran compact .25. The knockouts were the best. That said, NONE of them were good enough to be worth using. I have a high end PCP because I value accuracy. None of them were under an inch at 25yds. Unacceptable. If you could find a spare barrel, you could saw the choke off and see how that goes! But you'd need a very light slug or a lot of work on the gun.... Law of diminishing returns, etc.
