Taipan Veteran .177 regulator setting guidance

Just got a Huma regulator for my .177 Veteran Standard. Goal is to shoot the JSB 10.34 around 860-880.

What pressure setting should I start with?

If I wanted to be able to shoot heavier (JSB 16.2 around 800-820) would that influence what i set the regulator to?

If you want to shoot a 177 10.34 at 860-880 it is probably not going to get more than 700 with the 16.2. Flip side 16.2 800-820 may give you 1000 with 10 34.

I would start at 110-120 bar and go up as a general 177 start reg point.

Thanks, I’d like to be in a regulator range where I can make changes with the hammer spring to accommodate both pellets and not be on the extreme end of the adjustment. Maybe I’ll start right in the middle 115.

My 177 cricket compact came to me at 122 bar on the reg adjustment....completly useless .177 start al 90 bar goggle it ...when the hammer strike is sound like 2 piece of wood knocking each other ...have to tune it down..well at least in my gun..yours could be different..

Interesting, i may start a bit lower. A main concern for me is noise. Id like the hammer noise to be minimized. How does that play into regulator pressure?
