I bought this .25 cal Taipan Slash Tactical semi-auto airgun with the 420mm barrel from Talon Tunes recently. Got it just out of curiosity since it was a completely new semi auto design. It is solidly built, the magazines are solid metal and beautifully machined, the semi auto works well, and it is quieter than my previously owned K1 and L2 when shot at similar power.
I ran some basic tests on it with 6 kinds of .249 diameter slugs (in 29, 32 , 34, 42, 46 & 48 grain) from H&N, NSA, Griffin and AVS.
The opened boxes of slugs which I used for testing are included in the sale since. Also included are 3 pellet magazines, 1 slug magazine, and a threaded barrel end adapter. Plus the the test target sent by Talon Tunes, a manual, spare O-rings, and the rubber Talon Tunes work mat, all in the original shipping box.
Nothing was changed on the airgun. I ran a couple of dozen shots for each type of ammo to get the velocities and calculate the fpe.
My original cost was around $2,700: $2,400 for the Slash, $125 for 2 extra pellet magazines, $75 for the threaded barrel adapter and over $100 for the slugs.
The sale price is $1,900 via PayPal and includes shipping within the lower 48 states.
My technical curiosity about the Slash has been satisfied and I already got my money's worth of satisfaction by being one of the first in the US to own one and to post my initial impressions on the forums. It is a fine semi-auto airgun that will be a serious competitor in the semi-auto airgun market.
The first solid offer to buy gets it. No trades, I'm finally clearing out my airgun closet and don't want or need anything else airgun related.
Thanks for looking. The classified sales are what let the newer members get started with good equipment which they couldn't afford to buy at retail prices.
