I don't know why the Slash manual recommends not adjusting the regulator pressure, it was very simple and worked just like you'd expect. Talon Tunes recommend using a regulator pressure range of between 120 Bar to 180 Bar.
I have a .25 Slash with the 420 barrel and ran chrony tests for 8 brands of pellets and 5 kinds of slugs. The slug magazines were very accurately machined and only accepted 0.249 slugs. I ran the most of the tests at 125 Bar, 155 Bar and 185 Bar. A ~100 degree turn on the regulator's rear adjustment plate took the regulator pressure from a low of ~120 Bar up to a high ~180 Bar.
When I tried it at 100 Bar the magazine didn't cycle consistently for some lighter pellets. Pellets and slugs all cycled the magazines correctly when reg pressure was over 120 Bar, though that most recent recent video from Barista's and how to adjusting the magazine's cycling should resolve any cycling issues at that lowest test pressure on the reg.
The shot power in the 25 cal 420mm barrel at 125 Bar in the regulator ranged from about 55 fpe to 60 fpe depending mostly on the ammo weight, and at 185 Bar ranged between 75 fpe to 80 fpe. I just posted post my .25 Slash Tactical along with 6 boxes of .249 slugs for sale in the AGN Classifieds a few minutes ago, in case anyone is interested.
It'll be especially interesting to see real-world results when the new .30 Slash is released this fall, and how it compares to the new .30 cal K1 being released by Huben around the same time.
