I am currently searching for a new squirrel buster and I'm open to about anything but a bull pup. In fact, I'm trying to sell one now lol. Would the slash in 25 just shooting pellets particularly the Hades be better than the shorter or longer barrel for hunting. I'm not looking for huge power just normal pellet speeds for hunting out to 50 or 60 yards. I want a decent shot count and accuracy foremost. I would look at the tactical version for me because I think I could sling it easier for carry in the woods. I've got several feelers out for everything from FXDRS tactical to trying to get a Evol to a raw mini hunter in 25. I'm not a big tinkerer and once I get a tune that shoots good. I leave the gun alone and I just grab it and go hunting. I tend to like good quality and prefer not having to baby a gun when hunting. i've had the vet one in the past and it was a great gun, but I did not like the rear cocking or the fact that it was a bull pup. I prefer a real steel barrel and not the liner system, but the DRS with the tends to help some of those issues with the point of impact shift. I was even looking at L2's in 25. So in your opinion, is this a gun I can rely on to grab and go and hunt? Not one I have to burn two or three shots off for the regulator settle in so I don't have low first shots? I don't mind spending the money for quality. I'm a firm believer buy once cry once and you get what you pay for.

This isn't a range trip yet.. But I was able to get it over the chronograph for a full string with pellets.
I've only done one full string at a velocity I wanted so there is more to try of course.
Over 50 shots at the power I'm running seems to be in line with Huben? I can't really remember and as well, mine was a .25.
The power can be set a lot higher than I have mine set at the moment but I'm just starting to see what this tune may bring to a target.
This one is the .22 550mm barrel tactical version.
Tuning is done by removing the cheek piece and unscrewing a flat head screw (brass) on the left side of the plenum and replacing it with a gauge (supplied) and an adapter for the removed screw to 1/8 bspp.
Then remove the back cover above the butt pad with 2 screws and start tuning.
I do de-gas when going either direction just to be safe but I believe it's designed to tune gassed up.
At 912 fps with 25.4 grain AEA pellets, as well as the 25 grain .217 H&N slugs (both shoot the same fps) I'm getting over 50 shots from a (294) bar fill.
The regulator is giving 15 fps spread over the total shot string 3 SD and the reg isn't broken in yet.
The rear butt pad is adjustable and can be lowered about one inch which suits me well.
I put an outgun 25mm gauge on the airguns total pressure and the Sekhmet 28mm was just used for tuning in the tuning air port.
I also put a form black grip on that didn't have a home yet and I'll see if it works over a few range trips. So far it's very comfortable.
The rubber grip that came is a standard rubber with finger groove type (think hogue, FX, Epic etc) that some find somewhat small including me.
I will say it's not as easy to tune as some with a built in regulator gauge however, this airgun is about as stripped and streamlined as you can get to do what it does and even having an option to attach a gauge at all beats a bunch of airguns out there still.

It's very impressive so far and early next week I should have a written and maybe a video review.

He's also top notch as I'm sure many of you already know.

Impressive rifle and I have had the Huben K1 as well as the Western Sidewinder. Both are very good airguns but this one is certainly a step up in the build quality department and we'll see about the range hopefully soon.



Edit: Tony has thread 1/2x20 thread adapters made for this Slash as well as the Taipan Veteran II that's 1/2 unf..
The pics show the adapter prior to the anodizing being done. The thread protectors will be Delrin.

I went and filmed a bit today. I wanted to show the shot consistency as well as try to find which slugs and pellets this one may prefer.

I spent most of the day next to large centerfire rifles and dealing with 80+ percent humidity with low winds of 7mpf gusting to 12-15 at times.

The trip was almost over and I figured the airgun was about as accurate as many semi-auto's out there (that I have owned) but then something happened.
The rifle almost fell off the bench and when I caught it, it had bumped the scope rings.
My next magazine was way for to the right and I was kind of surprised that it had drifted so far from a slight bump.
But then I checked the wing nuts that hold the EagleVision mounts to the pic rail..
The rear one was very loose and the front one wasn't even tightened at all.
I had forgotten to tighten the scope down all the way in my hurried state installing it in the morning knowing I had a bit of the day to shoot, get something into the forum and fit this between spells of rain (one more rain on the way)
One last try and after zeroing the scope when actually tight, it performed like a champ.
I know CTC it was less than 1/2" but not to what degree.

So here is the pic of AEA 25.3 gr .22 pellets and what they can do and it will be another day when I go back with my assortment of slugs to see what they do with a scope not ready to fall off the gun..

I'm now considering getting one of these in .22.

I'm a sucker for short guns, but If there isnt a need for a moderator maybe I'll get the 550, its still short enough.
But the main point is, how acurate are they? There are only a couple of videos on youtube, and seem from guns that are not yet broken-in and the groups dont look that good.

How are your groups now that you have some shots done? Thats my main concern, not the amount of shots.

I've read this whole thread 2 times already. There are only a couple of posts about actual accuracy, most of the rest is talking about huben and/or tuning and speeds/power.
There isnt yet much info about acuracy. Maybe there arent yet that many Slashs out there with enough lead thru them and I'll have to wait.

I agree with you. Only a few of us Slash owners have posted accuracy so far. We need more.

By my unofficial count of perusing Slash threads, only eight AGN members have indicated they have or will purchase a Slash.

I'm also eying the slash .25 for the same reasons as you describe. So I'm curious as well for some more user reports on accuracy.

My current rat buster gun is a Leshiy 2 (I have .22 and .25). It's a really good hunting gun in my opinion: no POI shifts, no slow first shots, no fuzz, compact etc. I'm always amazed about the very low extreme spread of the pellet speeds. Even when storing the gun for weeks it comes out of the bag with a perfect first shot.

Even when storing the gun for weeks it comes out of the bag with a perfect first shot.

I still want a L2 in 25 350 for hunting and if I could trade my delta for one I would. It seems like the L2 is proven and dependable.
