Taipan Mutant Magazine Question

Does anyone know if a Taipan Veteran magazine will work in a Taipan Mutant?

My Taipan Veteran mags will not fit into my Mutant. The Veteran mags are thicker. Neither will the thinner mutant mags fit the Veteran. The .22 cal Mutant mags hold 12 shots, while the .22 cal Veteran mag only holds 10 shots. The holes for the pellets are spaced differently on the 2 models.
