Today was a good day for the Taipan .25, got 33 iguanas 4 of which were hatchlings.

Btw I know these are screenshots of the pictures I took, but because I keep taking pictures with the 108 megapixel camera setting they don't format well on the website. I keep forgetting to turn the setting back to normal for these pictures.

You get paid to harvest them? If so I want in lol Not so many targets out here in the desert.

wonder if there is a way to use darts (imbedding thru the skin ) that would chemically neuter them ?
No point in darting the ones we can remove on the spot. Also there would be a lot of needles on the streets if we did that.

Although catching a couple thousand and genetically changing there breeding habits like we have with mosquitoes to reduce their population is something that could work.

i meant a small thin pellet that would bury itself inside the iggy . not what people think of as a dart . possibly a pellet with a tiny drop of chemical in the skirt ? shot into the stomach ?

Probably not something they would go for. Also iguanas have different skin thickness as they age. So you'd need something accurate, sharp and fast. It would likely be eaiser to try and feed it to them or capture the iguanas inject them with said serum and then release them again.

That would be animal cruelty. Just like shooting any other animal in a non vital area and just letting them run off. There's also a chance that it can get infected and slowly kill the iguana, only to then be eaten somewhere by another animal like, turtles, fish, or vultures who can then also be affected by whatever the iguana had in it's body.

Suddenly I have a craving for a nice iguana taco. I'm going to have to make it out to Florida one of these days and let you show me the ropes. That looks like too much fun.

...I mean shooting them. Not the birth control thing.
Come on down and we'll show you a great time!
I also agree with you on the whole BC thing.
