Taipan and H+N Slugs

I shot today the H+N .217, 21 gr slugs of my Taipan Veteran compact at 815 fps, HST max. On a field with a bipod, the back resting on my hand and i am not a good shooter , Distance was 50 m (54.7 yards), group was 0.59 inch ctc. I'm really happy with those slugs!

Good shooting and fine airgun. I was also interested in how they work I have Veteran compact but.25.I also own Vulcan 2 .22 which has Cz barrel so they might work in it. I will have to try it to know

Did you shoot any other weight or head size?

I supposedly am on the list for testing these new slugs from H&N so I've been holding off on buying any...hope I here from them soon !

I'll be testing in a Veteran long that is slightly power tuned. I'm getting 920fps with the new FX hybrids.

Hi Blejda, i also bought the .217, 30 grains slugs, but they are harder to chamber into the cz barrel. they have much more contact surface with the barrel and my taipan shoots them with 645 fps at max HST. I think they would fit better in .215 maybe. i did not shoot a group with them.

Great thank you Bask.Yes they are longer and have a lot more contact surface. I think for those one very powerful pcp would be needed.

I finally got to run the .217 H&N slug sampler through my .22 R5M today. 

Gotta say, a bit disappointed in them out of this gun. I shot 21, 23, 25, and 27gr, and the heavier would group about 3/4 inch at 50yrds. The 21gr were all over heck. They are very dirty coming out of the tin, and the HP is so shallow I wonder if it would be effective at all? 

I popped in the FX hybrids and they put in a one hole group. No contest here. 

Not impressed by the H&N slugs!

I about purchased these for my shorty tiapan .22 cz barrel but purchased nsa sampler first wasnt sure if it could push them

I shot the H&N's through my RedWolf , the light ones were horrid , my buddy shot some through his Red Wolf running 70 foot pound and oddly enough , his liked he 25 grain and mine running 56 ft/lb preferred the 27's ?? Go figure ? They loved a clean barrel in mine , soon as it got dirty they were all over the place . They got the barrel dirty super quick too , I had to pull through the barrel a few times that day to make sure it stayed true . My 100 yard ground did go off towards the end of the day but again I think its due to shooting a bunch of them that day ,

Problem being, fire a few of these, and the barrel is dirty as heck! They are filthy out of the tin!

I may wash mine in solvent, lube em, and try again. Otherwise they are paperweights.

That might work , I tried cleaning some and then using some LT1 and that made a difference , Saying that it did go off quickly . Shame that . I use Pro Hunter slugs from the UK and to be honest they work a treat , they do dirty up the barrel of course but nowhere near as quickly as th H&N's . They are dirty beasts
