As some of you have stated in this thread, it appears others have also had challenges with their .25 cal accuracy too. I am "resigned" to the fact that I am not going to get 1/2" average sized groups with this rifle. Could be the barrel, but as Scott indicated to me when we talked recently, shooting from the Bench with a bullpup and the recoil of the .25 is not the same as shooting with my RAW or RW long rifles. If I thought Tony at TT would swap out my .25 barrel and pellet probe for a .22 barrel and pellet probe, that might be an option for future consideration. I have a feeling that the .22 may be more accurate at 50 yards, but no facts/data to support that either.
Tommy, it seems that the barrels that come with the .25 Taipan are frequently "unfinished" My buddy Tony bought a used one .25 Long and the barrel was HORRIBLE. Both the Leade and the Crown needed to be re-done. Its still not super accurate unless it shoots the "unobtanium" .25 King Heavy. He was shooting Mk2 at 50 yards a few weeks back, getting maybe quarter size groups, a few nickel size. I asked to shoot the gun and loaded some King Heavy (Mk1) and proceeded to put 5 shots well inside a dime... But, as we all know now, JSB has decided not to make those anymore... ;(
